Holy Trinity Church

Hepworth is part of the Upper Holme Valley Team Ministry, a grouping of eight churches with three full-time priests. For more information about the Team, please go to the web site - www.holme-valley-anglican-church.org

The Rev Keith Griffin became our vicar in September 2002. He also has responsibility for the church in Holmfirth. Keith was ordained in Southwell Diocese in 1995. He served as a curate in Nottingham before working as vicar of a church on the outskirts of London.

Our main activity at Hepworth Church is our weekly, Sunday service which is usually held at 9.15am. Most of these services are what we call a Parish Eucharist which lasts about an hour. We also have a shorter service of Holy Communion on a Wednesday at 10am once a month, as well as a short service of morning prayer on Fridays at 9am.

Details of services, including any special services, are advertised in our monthly parish magazine and also on the noticeboards at the church lychgate and at the village hall.

These details are also included on the Team web site and are updated each month.

As well as holding weekly worship, we organise a wide variety of different events - some of them to raise money for our church, others to get the whole community meeting socially. Details of these events are included in Hepnet, in Focus, in the church magazine - and posters can be found throughout the village, advertising a particular event.

God's church is made up of people. Here in Hepworth we have a great deal of support from a lot of people in the community, not all who come to church. Hilary and Richard are our churchwardens, Jim oversees health and safety issues, Chris looks after the children, Sheena edits the magazine, Richard organises the collection for Christian Aid Week, lots of people pour the coffee and tidy the churchyard . . . . . the list goes on.

If you would like to find out more about us, why not come along on a Sunday morning? Alternatively, you could make contact with the vicar on 01484 682644.
