Hepworth Village Hall is a new venue for top quality occasional folk & acoustic music concerts. The first gig on 6th Feb 2009 saw Sheffield band Crucible perform to a full house despite a freezing cold night and deep lying snow.  Since then there have been 4 more excellent concerts all well attended with appreciative audiences,  and there are 4 more booked from January through to April 2010, see below for details. The village hall is a lovely intimate venue with good acoustics and a great friendly atmosphere that is much enjoyed by both artists and audience

This is what David Ferrard had to say following his visit from Edinburgh to perform at Hepworth:

It was one of the loveliest gigging experiences both Sandy and I have had. It was dreamy arriving in the beautiful village with the sun shining ...

...The village hall is a charming venue and we were delighted with the turnout.

This email was sent by Kevin, a newcomer to concerts at the hall following the Stephen Fearing gig:

What can we say that would do justice to one of those evenings that just blew our socks off with absolute delight. We all sat there mesmerised by Abbey and Richard enjoying the musical starters, little did we know that the main course was to be 5 star top notch musical professionalism, man and instrument as one with something to say and play. I bathed in the glow of the  music of Stephen Fearing all evening and walked out of the village hall an enriched and life affirmed person. What joy. Bring it on.........!!

Following the success of the first year of concerts we are now planning a new "season" for Autumn 2010.  We already have some some exceptional acts pencilled in. Full details will be announced as soon as all contracts are confirmed.

Keeping checking the website or if you would like to receive occasional email updates please contact Paul via the email link above.

The new season of concerts will be on the last Saturday of each month from September to April.

All proceeds go the Village Hall Community Association which supports many activities in the village and maintains the hall.

Uiscedwr

Uiscedwr

Support: Sarah Horn (from Jiggawatt) & James Cudworth

Funky-folk trio Uiscedwr is one of Britain's most exciting contemporary bands. Featuring Anna Esslemont on fiddle and vocals with James Hickman on guitar and Karen Tweed on piano accordion, the band's sound is underpinned by Cormac Byrne (of Seth Lakeman band fame) playing the most thrilling percussion you're ever likely to hear.

With awards from the BBC and the PRS Foundation and two highly acclaimed albums under their belt, Uiscedwr's music is fatter, funkier and folkier than ever before. The eclectic repertoire draws on traditions from all over the British isles tempered by influences as diverse as jazz, Latin, blues, and klezmer. Spend an evening with Uiscedwr and travel with them round the world.
